Roy and Pam Scafidi have been manufacturing Island Waveskis and Island Surfboards since 1987.
In 1999 they purchased the old Cresent Beach surfshop building at 3220 S. Atlantic ave. The retail space was only about 500 sq feet, the rest was used as a full glass factory and shaping room.
In the fall of 2004 Hurricane Francis tore the roof completly off the old 1940′s building and destroyed everything. Hard work and determination led to the opening the new Oceansports World in April of 2006.
The new store has over 2000 sq feet of retail space. Items are still made completely on site. The shaping room is still in the same spot it has been for over 40 years,
but now with a glass wall so you can see boards being shaped by Stu Sharpe or Pat O’Hare while you shop.
In 2010, Oceansports World Beach Store was opened. Located at 18 Minutemen Cswy, this store is a stones throw from the beach next to Coconuts Bar and Grill.
The Beach Store has all the hottest new bikinis and beach wear. Forgot sun screen or a towel? Both locations have what you need for a great day at the beach.
